The Baja peninsula is fortunate to have big aquifers that a
llow plants to survive.
Some of the plants that grow in Baja are unique to this land.
Some are giants and others so small that you can hardly
see them. The desert can put a unique color show after it rains.
One can find medicinal plants and venomous ones and
almost all with spines.
When one is lost the desert can also provide food and
liquid from its vegetation.
Some of the plants are only to be found in Baja such as the
"Cirios" and the "Cactus-Carderes".
At El Cardonal's Hide-a-Way we have preserved
the native vegetation and the surrounding area is still very wild.
